I saw "27 Dresses" and "Cloverfield" this weekend. Let me first tell you about the former. "27 Dresses" was the quintessential wedding movie of the year. Katherine Heigl was charming, beautiful, and believable -- perhaps because she recently got married in "real" life. Overall, the movie was entertaining, cute, but nothing more, or less, than the last romantic wedding comedy. One thing's for sure, it certainly made me happy my wedding is over and done with, and that my bridesmaids dresses weren't hideous! 8/10

"Cloverfield", on the other hand, was an entirely different story. It pains me to say I was sadly disappointed. Not only did the handy-cam camera style make me completely nauseas throughout the entire movie, but the movie itself left me wanting more, much more. There was no resolve, poor character development, and a lack of monster footage. Ultimately, it felt like an "empty" movie. I wish it had lived up to its genius viral marketing campaign. I won't say it's the worst movie I've ever seen, but it certainly is no where near the best. I was mildly entertained. 5/10
Oh, and I'm not huge on football, at all, but I watched the Giants/Packers game last night, and boy am I happy the Giants won! Though they are called the "New York" Giants, fellow New Jersey natives understand they are "our" team. I don't know how they played in -4 degree weather. Sheeesh!
