Somewhat moved in

I'm a bit under the weather. My long weekend in New Jersey kicked my butt. Lots of packing, and moving. I was able to see some friends, and spend a lot of time with my family. Yay!

Henceforth, I have a sore throat, and am pretty darn congested. My boss said I can leave work early, so I'm going to do so shortly.

Ta ta.

16 days and counting!

Ben and I are catching a flight to NJ (actually NYC) at 8:10AM tomorrow morning, which means I have to wake up at 5AM. Meh. I'm really excited to see my family. I'm having my final wedding dress fitting, as well as getting my hair did, and going to Michelle and Steve's housewarming party. It'll be grand. But mostly, we'll be packing up all of my belongings, then driving a 15 foot Budget truck back down to VA on Tuesday. It's going to be an emotional visit, no doubt about that. I don't want to cry, but I probably will.

My coworkers surprised me with a bridal shower yesterday morning. It was lovely! I got a lot of nice gifts, and the decorations and food were great! I was completely shocked, and so thankful for such wonderful and generous coworkers.

Then, yesterday evening, Ben and I met with the lovely woman who is going to be playing piano for our wedding ceremony. It'll be beautiful, and touching! I'm very excited.

I'm also very stressed out. I could, quite possibly, be having a nervous breakdown. My appetite has changed and my stomach has been feeling rather uncomfortable. It's probably just nerves, but nonetheless I'm stressed. I always feel tired and overwhelmed. I've been going to sleep at like 10/10:30 for the past week or so. Weird.

Mauige

Ben and I went to the court house today to get our marriage license. I now have it in hand, the Pastor just needs to fill it out, then we'll offically be married. Wowzah!

18 days.

Oh yum!

Singularity

Mae show last night, had a grand time. I pretty much just sold merch with Derek the whole night, and lots of it. I got some sweet tips yo! I also got some sweet pictures and video of the spandex setup Ben so awesomely made happen for the guys. He was bummed he couldn't be there himself, so I thought I'd be the awesome fiance that I am, and take plenty of photographs. I'll post some later.

I'm so glad it's Friday. I want to sleep in tomorrow, but I have to wake up early to go to Richmond for a Bridal Shower (not mine). I'm sure it'll be fun, but I don't want to wake up!

Yamaha hahaha!

Ben has a 1979 (or 1971, it's debatable) Yamaha motorcycle that he bought off of eBay back in October. He hasn't touched it since he bought it, due to lack of funds to do necessary repairs. As a wedding present, Alex, Charity, Sean, Ryan, Timmy and I chipped in to get it fixed. Luckily, Charity's brother in law, Jon, works on motorcycles. After months of keeping our plans a secret, we unveiled Ben's motorcycle to him last night. He was so happy, and completely surprised.

We're good, real good.

Wedding woooo

Wedding and house hullabaloo are moving along nicely. There's still so much stuff to be done it's ridiculous. Monday night we're meeting with the organist, to decide on music for the ceremony. This past Monday we met with our new cake designer. Our wedding cake is going to be lovely. It's not quite what I originally wanted, but I think the design we ended up with will work a lot better with our overall theme. Plus, she brought a sample, and it tasted great! Our guests are in for a treat! I'm really excited about it now.

That is all I have time to write, haha. Ta ta!

Ben and I finished our bathroom! Well, we still have to get someone to come and tile, but we already bought the tile and have someone lined up, yay!

Our house is not yet a home

Here are some pictures of the inside of our townhouse.

The apple border will be gone shortly. Thank goodness!

The master bedroom is a complete mess, I know.

It's cozy, and I can't wait to decorate.

We got a great washer and dryer for $200! (We changed our mind on the other set)

Less than a month until we're married!

Good times.

Don't eat the cake

See that cake? That's what I want. Or at least, something very similar to that.

I'm completely perturbed by the woman who is supposed to be making our wedding cake. Ben's mother bartered music lessons, which are worth a very pretty penny, in return for 2, 1 of which Charity used, wedding cakes. Nevertheless, the cake lady refuses to make the cake how I want it to be made. First of all, she doesn't want to use fondant. Now, I know fondant doesn't taste great, but it sure does look great. Secondly, she won't make each layer flush with the next. Instead, she wants to use pillars. I don't like the way pillars look. In fact, I loathe pillars. Yes, I've told her this. Thirdly, she doesn't want to use the filling I want. Lastly, she won't be able to deliver the cake to the reception site because she is going on vacation. Instead, she wants to deliver it to Ben's parents house the afternoon before, and have us take it to the reception. Unacceptable.

Ben's Aunt is supposed to be talking to the cake lady, to work something out. I'm not sure what, but something. I personally think she should just give Ben's Mom the money she owes for the music lessons, so we can get a professional to make the cake.

This cake is turning into a disaster. At least we have a really awesome cake topper!

Wowzah!

Ben and my wedding is officially 1 month from today, oh my!

Ugh!

I'm a tad bit disappointed, depressed, stressed out, and annoyed.

I hate money

I've been feeling pretty crappy the past few days. I've got the phlegm going on, and I don't like it. I'm just really congested. Bah!

Ben and I are buying a used Kenmore washer and dryer set for $350. MUCH better than paying $700 for a new set. Luckily, the set is in really good condition (looks good, and works well) and are only a few years old. The only thing I am not looking forward to is picking them up in Hampton. Oh well. Clean clothes are worth it! Thank you craigslist.

Tomorrow Charity and Hae-jin are throwing me a breakfast Bridal Shower. It should be a lot of fun, and quite yummy! We're having homemade Belgium waffles! Hopefully I'm feeling a bit better. Then, tomorrow night, Jen is having her Bachelorette party. Apparently, there is a limo involved, wowzah! Good times.

I want to be in bed right now.

My car is broke fix it

Waiting for Ben to pick me up outside of work!

Our new pad

There's so much going on, I don't even know where to begin. I'm officially a homeowner. Ben and I already bought a new mirror/medicine cabinet, as well as an additional cabinet for the upstairs bathroom. It's a very small bathroom, so my goal is to open it up with a larger mirror. Overall, the exisiting cabinets, mirror etc. do not do anything for the space. We want to paint the bathroom as well as some other rooms, change the vinyl floor in the bathroom to tile, and change out some lighting fixtures throughout the house. Right now, when I go there, I just feel like I'm in an empty hotel, haha! It still doesn't really feel like it's mine. I'm sure that'll change once Ben and I move all of our stuff in! However, we won't be moving in until after our honeymoon.

I'll try and post some pictures soon!

Ben and I are flying up to NJ on the 24th, packing up all of my furniture etc. at my parents house, and renting a moving truck to drive it all down to VA on the 28th. It's going to be a lot of hard work, so I'm not looking forward to it. Also, while we're there I'm having my final wedding dress fitting, yay! I can't wait for that. Oh! And Michelle and Steve are having a housewarming party at their new place on the 25th, so Ben and I will be able to go, YAY!

As far as wedding stuff... bah!
