Movie weekend, and Easter

Ben and I decided to see what all the fuss was about regarding the Oscar nominated movies for this year, so we rented Atonement and No Country for Old Men, which were the nominees we hadn't already seen.

Atonement = horrible. Why does Keira Knightley sucks so much? And WHY was that movie nominated? I felt absolutely nothing for the characters. I was peeved that Cecilia's sister lied, but that's it. And I didn't feel for Cecilia and Robbie when they died, AT ALL. Boooooring. D

No Country for Old Men = GREAT, up until the end. Super engaging, and Javier Bardem was amazing at being super creepy and heartless. I can certainly see why this won. I know what they were going for with the ending, and from what I've been told, they didn't stray from the book, but I was disappointed. Aside from the ending I'd give it an A.

Is anyone else really excited for Coldplay's 4th album Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends, which will be realeased on June 17th?! Brian Eno is producing it. If that counts for anything, it'll be great!

He does what he wants

... even if it does include sleeping in the middle of the floor (at work) with a stuffed purple rabbit.

Jin?! Oh no.

Multitasker: I'm drinking coffee, listing to MGMT (they are alright), writing this, and working.

I'm glad it's Friday. I'm looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow morning. I haven't been sleeping very well lately. My allergies overcome me at night, bah! Ever since the time change, I've been waking up when it's still dark out. I don't like it.

I FINALLY got my car back yesterday. It took over a month to get fixed. How completely ridiculous. At first it felt really weird to drive it, and I had to get used to it again. I missed my beetle so.

I fell asleep while Ben and I were watching "The Two Towers" Extended Edition, a few nights ago, so I'm planning to finish watching that this weekend. Man, I forgot how good those movies are. Eegor gets really excited and stares at the TV screen when Gollum starts talking, it's really freakin' cute.

Yesterday, my only Neice, Savannah, turned 1 year old. Yay! She so desparealy wants to talk, so cute. No, Ben and I don't want a child of our own any time soon. Eegor will do for now, as well as a few years from now, ha!

That is all. Ta ta!

The Hobbit

I've decided to give "The Hobbit" another attempt. I tried reading it years ago, but I couldn't get passed all of the singing and food talk. I'm about a quarter through it, and so far, so good. I'm doing much better this time around.

The movie, directed by the talented Guillermo del Toro and produced by Peter Jackson, is coming out in 2010. Sweet!

I wonder who will be playing Bilbo. Perhaps Ian Holm will, as he did in the LOTR Trilogy. Although, Ian is in his 70's, and Bilbo is in his 50's in "The Hobbit." Maybe it'll work, maybe not. We shall see!

Project Runway

I'm kind of disappointed by the outcome of Project Runway. Sure, Christian's collection was "fierce," well made, innovative, cohesive, and by all means he performed the best throughout the season, but I imagine only a handful of people would actually wear any of it, including Victoria Beckham. There were maybe 2 or 3 pieces that were actually wearable in my eyes. In fact, Christian's collection was just as costume-y as Chris's, though Christian's was a lot more tasteful. Where Chris used human hair, Christian used feathers. Meh.

In my opinion, I think Rami should have won. I loved all of his separates, and yes, even the colors. His craftsmanship was impeccable, and the style was great. I would have preferred Jillian's collection over Christian's too. The jacket that her main model wore was fabulous.

A part of me thinks they only picked Christian to avoid another repeat of the Season 2 disappointment, where the young, hip, "fan favorite," Daniel Vosovic, was not picked as the winner. God fordbid the judges disappoint again. Only, in this case, Daniel really did deserve to win.

Ah well.

Go Obama!

If Hillary wins Ohio and Texas I'll be REALLY bummed.

I finally have affordable health insurance. OMG, I think hell froze over. Are those pigs flying outside?

In fact, if Obama becomes the next President, health insurance premiums will become even more affordable, and those people who do not wish to have health insurance won't be forced to get it. Ahem, Hillary.
