Things could be better, but they could be worse.

As you may know, my car needs a new transmission, because I ran over what looked to be a truck axel in the middle of the interstate, to avoid a serious accident. I've had a disgusting Ford Taurus rental car for the past 2 weeks, and I still won't get my car back until March 3rd. Oh and did I mention the Taurus smells like gross motel room? Yup, it does. The only good thing about it is that it takes regular gas, and my Beetle takes premium, so I've been saving some money in the gas department, especially since gas prices have been skyrocketing like crazy lately.

Also, Ben and I are not happy with our tax return. Wait, what tax return? It's quite the opposite in fact, QUITE.

Needless to say, I've been somewhat bummed out the past few weeks. Though, it has come to my attention that things could be worse. Luckily, we both have jobs we really enjoy, great family and friends that love us, and an awesome Eegor that is the cutest pug pup EVER.

And with that I leave you this...

Be inspired!

My boss, Drew, e-mailed this to everyone at work last night. How completely awesome!
I wish I could do that to my hair, hahaha!

On a side note, I'm really excited for Project Runway tonight! Chris or Rami, who will it be?! I'm thinking Rami, but you never know, Chris could pull a beautiful collection out of nowhere. My only worry with him is that his collection will lack taste.

German dogs wear booties

Story from CNN:
They're big, strong, and fierce -- and they wear little blue booties.

A police dog with foot protection is seen in this photo provided by police in Duesseldorf, Germany.

The police dogs in Duesseldorf, Germany are now patrolling the pavement in protective shoes that their police-officer handlers strap onto their paws.

The reason? Too many glass shards left by beer drinkers in the city center, said Andre Hartwich, a spokesman for police in Duesseldorf.

"We wondered how can we protect our dogs' feet against glass," said Hartwich. "We looked on the Internet and found these shoes."

Beer drinkers along the Rhine River and in the city's Altstadt, or Old Town, often discard beer bottles on pebbled walkways. Broken glass poses a problem for the police force's 20 German Shepherds and Belgian Shepherds, Hartwich said.

In addition, hooligans and vandals leave behind glass shards around New Year's Eve and during the city's famous Carnival celebrations.

Their handlers shelled out 60 euros -- $89 -- for shoes that are also worn by dogs who walk on ice in Alaska.

Dogs need a month of training to get used to wearing the shoes, Hartwich said.

"We have to condition the dogs to the shoes," he said.

Good call! Maybe I'll get Eegor a pair! Nah, he doesn't typically walk on broken glass, though he did find a used condom in a parking lot yesterday. Perhaps that merits protection!

Ugh, Monday

On Saturday night, Ben and I went to the 2008 ADDY Awards. Grow won 4 Silver and 7 Gold awards. GO US! Everyone got dressed up all snazzy and it was a good time.

Ben had to leave the awards early to head to work, so I stayed and was planning on getting a ride home with a coworker, Ricky, and his wife Kelly. So, as Kelly and I were waiting for Ricky to get the car back from the valet, Ricky comes back and tells us that the valet lost their car keys. Dang it! The valet service felt really bad so they said they'd pay for a cab to take us home. We were bummed. We waited for about 45 minutes, and then the valet guy told us he got us a limo instead! SWEET! The limo finally came, and they gave us free champagne too, nice! So, it didn't turn out so bad after all! We had a lovely ride home.

Ben slept in yesterday morning, so I decided to watch 3:10 to Yuma. I thought it was going to be just another typical Western movie, which I dislike very much, but I actually really REALLY enjoyed it! I think Russell Crowe did an amazing job playing the sort of good bad guy. In fact, all the acting was superb. I was really impressed. I'm glad Ben slept in, and I decided to watch it. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the best, I'd give it a 9. Rent/buy it if you haven't seen it. You won't be disappointed.

Oh and by the way, just so you know... I hate money with a firey passion.

Lunar Eclipse 2/20

There will be a Total Lunar Eclipse Thursday evening, starting at 8:43PM EST.
How very lovely! I'll be watching.

According to NASA,
"A total eclipse of the Moon occurs during the night of Wednesday, February 20/21, 2008. The entire event is visible from South America and most of North America (on Feb. 20) as well as Western Europe, Africa, and western Asia (on Feb. 21). During a total lunar eclipse, the Moon's disk can take on a dramatically colorful appearance from bright orange to blood red to dark brown and (rarely) very dark gray."

He needs another bath

Woe is me!

Last Saturday, Ben did lighting for Mae at William and Mary, and I came with. The ceiling was cool.

On Monday, I was on my way to work, and to avoid an accident I ran over a truck axel, and had to have my car towed. The transmission was maimed.

I was real sad. Yes, I even cried a little.

Oh yeah, Happy Valentine's Day! Ben is out of town, but he got me Guitar Hero II! I already beat Guitar Hero III, so I needed something else to play. Muahahaha!

The new faces of Vitamin Water

My coworker, Matt, is hilarious.

Is Obama a Mac and Clinton a PC?

Life & Death

It turns out Mr. Heath Ledger died of an accidental overdose on prescription medications. How very sad. New York's chief medical officer, Charles Hirsch, confirmed his cause of death;

"Mr Ledger died as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam, and doxylamine. We have concluded that the manner of death is accident, resulting from the abuse of prescription medications."

In other news, Super Poll Tuesday was yesterday, and the Democratic Presidential race is very close. Virginia is holding our primaries on the 12th, so I shall be voting then -- for Mr. Barack Obama! I really feel like he'll bring new life, and hope, to our Nation. The thought of having Clinton in the White House, again, really disturbs me.

I sleep on desk

Go Giants!

For 22 years I lived minutes away from Giant's Stadium, and I had to deal with game day traffic, construction, more traffic, and wait, more traffic. Was it worth it? I wasn't so sure, up until last night!

Congratulations to the New York (New Jersey) Giants on their much deserved victory over The New England Patriots at Super Nowl XLII!

Perhaps now the plan to tear down the existing Giant's stadium and build a bigger and better one next to it, won't sound so asinine to everyone living in the area. Oh, did I mention they are building an indoor ski slope next door to it? Perfect, and completely necessary.

Get more info on Super Bowl XLII here.
