Me? Football? Nah.

Since the football season started, we've been having a weekly contest at work. The contest is to see who can guess what teams will win that week. I've been playing for weeks now, and have sucked majorly. Why? I don't care for football. Hence, I don't keep track on how the teams are doing. Therefore, what I usually do is just randomly pick the teams, but this week, Ben helped me!

Ok so, get this. The guy who puts on the contest, and also awards the prize (his name is David), just came up to my office to tell me I WON this weeks contest! And to top it all off, I got every since team right, which has never been done before! I'm stoked! And why I care all that much? I'm not totally sure. But hey, I get a cool prize! A grand parting gift. Sweeeeeet!

K-Fed and Britney

I'm not going to be humble, my bald cap turned out awesome! It took Ben and I about 45 minutes to put it on me, (tons of glue, makeup, etc.) but man, I was so stoked on the results! Mark and Amy threw a great Halloween party, complete with a industrial fog machine (provided by Creative Event Productions/Stage Right Lighting, thanks to my wonderful husband) that engulfed their entire house. I could barely see. Good times!

All of a sudden it's freezing outside. I'm not sure I like it very much. Eegor shivers when he goes out, and he avoids it at all costs. I have to coax him with liver treats, ha! Perhaps we should get him a little sweater.

Ben and I really want to see The Darjeeling Limited, but haven't had the time. I also really want to see Across the Universe. Hmph! Hopefully, we'll have some time this week to see at least one! We haven't been to the movies in a while. When did life get so busy?

We're having a Halloween Party at work on Wednesday. I'll probably wear a simple homemade costume, something that I can come up with on the fly. It shall be my last hurrah with the Rose & Womble folks. Ta ta!

Muzik?

I used to write about music a lot more. What happened? I'm not really sure. I guess, I got married, bought a house, and you know, all that life stuff. However, Ben and I bought the new Kenna CD the other day. I've only listened to a few songs on it, and it's okay. Nothing to write home about. Yet, I'm writing about it on here. I guess what I mean is, I think it'll take a larger effort, on Kenna's part, to top New Sacred Cow.

I need to buy a bald cap tonight, or else I won't be prepared for Mark and Amy's Halloween Party tomorrow night. I also want to find a gum ball machine that has fake gold chains in it. The one at Walmart was broken, and Ben needs it for his costume. Sweeeeet!

Uncertain

I always stive to be the best person I can be, and I feel as though I always accomplish my goal. However, why do I feel as though I've been somewhat short changed? Why do I continually give more than I get back? Is this my downfall? Am I doomed to be taken advantage of for the entirety of my life? Will I give, give, give, and take only minimally? Is this fair? Equal? The nature of the beast?

Life

I start my new job on November 5th, and I'm very excited. However, this puts me in a slight dilemma. We just got Eegor, a puppy that requires adequate amounts of attention, and is not to be left in his house (crate) for more than a few hours at a time. Currently, I come home for my lunch break, let him out, fed him, and play with him, but after I start my new job, I won't be able to do so anymore because of the distance. Therefore, I'm looking into either getting a friend to come over for an hour every day from around 1-2PM to keep Eegor company. Or, if that doesn't work, we're going to have to hire someone to come over, which isn't the best thing to do considering the expense. I don't doubt we'll be able to figure it out, but it's slightly daunting at the moment. One company I contacted yesterday about it, charges $15 per visit, which isn't horrible, but when you think about it, that's $300 a month. However, if it comes down to it I suppose it's doable for the sake of Ben and my little alien faced pug. I'm completely in love with him and don't want to live without him at this point. I'd feel like a horrible person, and I would never be able to look at a pug the same way again. Point blank, he's ours until the end, no if's and's or but's. We'll figure it out.

Halloween party at Mark's and Amy's Saturday night! I'm dressing up at bald crazy Britney Spears and Ben is going to be Kevin Federline, haha! It's going to be great! I can't wait!

We took pictures at the beach, so you see.

To pee or not to pee?

I've never been an advocate of crate training. However, after much research, I've decided it will be the easiest and most efficient way to housetrain Eegor. Therefore, I started crate training today, and so far, so good. I haven't confined him to his crate yet, because he needs to get completely comfortable with it before I start shutting the door behind him for more than a few minutes. Plus, since he's still so young, his bladder is small, and he can only hold it for so long.

Before I started crate training, 99% of the time Eegor used his wee wee pad when confined to the kitchen. When we let him loose around the house, he seems to forget where his wee wee pad is and tends to have accidents occasionally. He pooped in the living room twice yesterday.

This is what prompted me to begin crate training.

When I came home for lunch today, I snuggled with him for a bit, then fed him. I put his food bowl deep in his crate and he didn't hesitate to follow it in. I closed the door for a few minutes while he ate. Then, I immediately took him outside. He didn't use the potty, so I brought him inside. After playing with him for a bit, I decided to bring him back outside to see if he'd go. He did! I praised him with a small treat and he seemed proud of himself!

When I left to go back to work he was laying in his crate chewing on one of his toys. He looked very content.

This evening, when I get home from work, I'm going to repeat the process, and also take him outside every hour or so. I don't doubt that he's going to have some accidents and I'll get frustrated, but I'm trying my very best to be patient with the little guy.

He's here!

[On my lap sleeping, during the car ride home]

Little Eegor is the most adorable little creature I've ever seen. We drove 4 hours to get him, then 4 hours back. He slept most of the way, on his back, which was incredibly cute. He is so precious.

When we got home, he explored the house, ran around, and discovered his couch. Yes, he has his own mini couch. He and Ben watched TV together, and fell asleep.

He slept through most of the night, with a few little whimpers here and there. We kept him next to our bed so he wasn't alone. We figured since it was his first night away from his Mom and brothers and sisters, it would be best.

Tomorrow we are taking him to the vet, to make sure he's in perfect health. The breeder already got some of his vaccinations, but he has a few more to go. Until then, we aren't letting him go outside, so we are continuing his paper training. He's doing pretty well!

I can't wait!

I'm taking this whole getting a puppy thing super seriously, as I should. I've been avidly researching everything I possibly can about the pug breed, and it's quite possible that I know everything about them, haha! I may even make my own dog food to help ensure the health of little Eegor. Crazy? Maybe.

Ben is working until super late tonight/tomorrow morning, but I'm hoping he has some time tomorrow to go to PetSmart with me to get a collar, leash, toys, bowls, etc. for our little fury friend.

I'm really really excited to get him, and I know we'll do a fantastic job raising him. Eegor here we come!

Hello Eegor

Ben and I are having getting a child puppy. His name will be Eegor. Eegor was born on August 29th, and will be ours on October 14th. He will be a little less than 7 weeks old.

We are very excited to be getting an addition to our family! We just have to drive 4 hours this Sunday to get him! YAY!

Mission(s) accomplished!

I finally got a new drivers license with my married name on it this morning! I still need to get a new passport though, ah! I'll wait on that for a bit, because I don't plan on leaving the country until August (we'll see).

I convinced Ben that getting a pug is the greatest idea ever. We already have the perfect name picked out, ala Ben. We'll have one by January. I'm so excited.

I made some really yummy homemade spinach mushroom pizza last night. I gave myself a swift pat on the back. If you want the recipe just ask. Mmmmm!

Pushing Daises is on tonight. I'm looking forward to it!

Strike 2

I didn't go to the DMV this morning. Nor did I sleep last night.

Seeing blue?

Ben made things (more specifically a bar) blue tonight! Go team!

Married Life
It's going well, well indeed. Ben is still working more hours of the day than the sun shines, which in this part of the world, this time of year, is a lot. I still don't like it, but I'm trying to be more optimistic. At least he's making money!

Ben and I are getting a puppy in January. He promised. I want a black male pug. Thankyouverymuch. However, Ben doesn't like pugs because he says their eyeballs fall out. Whatever. If it happens, I'll just pop it right back in, haha! So yes, I'm going to make sure we get a pug. I'll be taking care of it more than Ben anyway.

I'm going to the DMV tomorrow morning to have my last name changed on my drivers license. Wowzah! I went to have it done this morning, but after sitting in the car for 15 minutes, I realized it was Columbus Day and the DMV was closed. I'm awesome, and I hate the DMV.

Fire 2 doors down

Yeah, my neighbor's house was on fire this evening. Another neighbor and I were trying to figure out what happened, and we think someone threw a cigarette into a dead bush (you can kind of see it in the picture), caushing the bush to easily catch on fire, spreading to the house. Lovely. Another reason why smoking is stupid.

Pug videos on YouTube amuse me

Let's go skydiving!

Britney Spears & a brave pug

Amy and I found this tonight, while surfing YouTube for over 4 hours watching random clips of Britney Spears. How it turned into pugs, I'm not quite sure, but this is adorable.

Maybe if I name the pug Jabba, Ben will let me get one.

It's all coming together

Ignore the blue tape, we're still in the midst of painting

Ben and I have been married for 4 weeks, today!

Ukrainian Bride Secrets

"For many years now, hundreds of thousands of mostly American men have made finding and marrying a Ukrainian woman a priority objective when they were looking for their lifetime partner."

Hahahaha! Please visit this website and read for yourself. Absolutely amazing.

I suppose Ben should consider himself somewhat lucky considering I'm 50% Ukrainian. Ha!

Is anyone else completely stoked that Radiohead is releasing a new album next week? 10/10 to be exact.

According to RTE Entertainment,

Radiohead have announced that their new album, 'In Rainbows', will be available for digital download from their website from 10 October - and fans can name their own price when buying the record.

Billboard reports that in a posting on the band's website, guitarist Jonny Greenwood said: "Hello everyone. Well, the new album is finished, and it's coming out in 10 days."

How incredible is that?!

Speechless

Update: Brittany Archer passed away on Friday. There are no words.
